The Mumbai Suburban Collector, Shri Nirmal Deshmukh, who took office in May 2010, has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court asking for contempt proceedings to be initiated against Jayesh Shah and the Kamathias.
His appeal is crystal clear in its detailed report with solid evidence showing how Jayesh Shah and the Kamathias made a mockery of all the conditions laid down by the Hon Supreme Court and the ex-Collector MSD. They willingly flouted all the conditions laid down, and did not stop even when the New Link Road Forum Members, the Press, the Police and the Tehsildar asked him to.
He and his men had only one line “Get us an order from the Supreme court”
Such people deserve the strictest punishment from our Judiciary.
We the New Link Road Forum have given our Collector valuable inputs and evidence to support his case against these people who want to destroy Mumbai’s precious mangroves.
Today as our members were surveying the area 344, we were shocked to see brown patches in the mangroves.
