A civilised society is known by how it cares for the silent and unheard voices crying for justice. Imagine your child coughing all night due to noxious fumes and pollution emanating from lush green mangrove forests where instead of pure oxygen it is getting fumes of toxic substances. Imagine the silent elderly citizens of Borivli and Dahisar suffering from Blood pressure, Anxiety and Asthma due to the crime and filth of the slums which have mushroomed on CRZ 1 mangroves.
Where is justice, they cry. The silent victims. Thank God! Atlast, the BMC heard their cry! The New Link Road Forum took up the cause of the unseen and suffering citizens of Mumbai. Their demand for justice. Our need for lush green mangroves to counteract the pollution, coastal erosion and global warming which are threatening our lives. This is our right as per the Constitution.
The demolitions of these dens of evil in CRZ have only begun. There is lots more left. We are committed and support the BMC, Police and the law of the land.
