Mangroves safe, citizens eye open spaces

A year ago, residents of 70 buildings in Dahisar won a bitter legal battle against a developer, and saved 425 acres of mangroves along the Borivali-Dahisar stretch. The battle had stretched over two years, winding up in the Supreme Court.
The case drained the residents financially; but not one of them thought of giving up. (Residents win back their mangroves in SC, Mumbai Mirror, Feb 1, 2011).
