10th January 2013:
Today the BMC [Municipal Corporation] and Police teamed up in strength to start demolition of unauthorized structures standing on CRZ 1 Mangrove forests at Borivali-Dahisar in North Mumbai.
Even after repeated warnings by the Court, Police and BMC, and despite repeated complaints by local tax payer citizens, these slum dwellers had not only refused to vacate their illegal structures called Ganpat Patil Nagar, but were causing immense damage to the health of innocent citizens [covered in detail in https://newlinkroad.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/pollution-from-slums-and-illegal-industries-killing-us/] besides destroying precious mangroves.
Today the 10th of January the demolitions have started.
