The burning continues

Today is the 26th of March 2022. Residents in the North West suburbs of Mumbai, ie Borivali and Dahisar woke up to yet another day, hoping for fresh air to breathe.

Unfortunately, criminal elements from an illegal slum built on wetlands [which have CRZ 1 status and have the highest protection as per Environment law] have decided to deny the citizens of India this fundamental right.

Shocking violation of all laws at GPN Slums

These images capture the horrors of what is happening at the end of Gulli 14 of GPN, a sprawling slum colony that has been harvested as a vote bank by all political parties.

Some action was taken yesterday

Some action was taken yesterday and given publicity, but the burning continues today.

A video showing the burning was uploaded to youtube, click here to check it out. [Will open a new tab]

Stringent action needs to be taken as per applicable sections of the IPC against this criminal activity. It is a crime of the highest magnitude, affecting the health of millions of residents of the city.

We hope the government does what it is elected to do, protect the citizens of India.
